DEEP WEB-A LEAST KNOWN PLACE

Deep web. What is deep web?

According to Guardian, webpages you actually have access to through browsers like Google Chrome,Mozilla Firefox etc. comprises only 0.03% of internet, now the rest is what is left is called Deep web.

Sites you see on search engines search lists are indexed by search engines and if you didn't get your site indexed by a search engine you'll eventually end up as part of deep web.

The deep web is truly anonymous and to get on it, you yourself needs to be anonymous too.

To access deep web you can't rely on normal web browsers like chrome or Firefox, what you need is a deep web browser like Tor and this is the only trusted deep web browser. more and more people are turning to the deep web to get their internet fix and protect their information, now this is because these browsers protects your anonymity, your location and your browsing behavior.

In a deep browser you need to input the site's URL ,hit enter and you'll be transported to the site, just like the mainstream web browsers differing from the fact that this time you'll be looking for sites in deep web. There both the provider and user are anonymous and difficult to trace as generally all are  domains.

Why is deep web so hidden and least known by people?

The answer to this is deep web is full of illegal sites, illegal transactions or buying done can get you in jail.

deep web contains few sites from which drugs and chemicals whose purchase is deemed illegal are put up for buying.

Every move of a user is monitored by higher governmental authorities on deep web and one slight mistake can get you in a lot of trouble, also since on deep web the user and provider are anonymous to each other ,it serves as an advantage to scamsters, so be aware of scamsters on deep web.

but if you stay away from all of that then you’ll find some interesting stuff on the deep web that you would never find on the public world wide web.

ONLINE VIDEO-A MUST FOR YOUR COMPANY

digital markting tips

What is online video marketing? why is everyone looking to it as the big window to the brighter future? why do we even need to use it? what changes will it bring?  what do we need to get onto that?

Let's take all that easy and one by one.

starting from what is online video marketing, google is working ahead with in- SERP video advertising ,which is a quite similar move to the auto play videos you've been watching for sometime on Facebook and twitter.

You may have come across video ads, auto play videos and all that stuff, now that is what is referred as online video marketing.

It is looked upon as a big window to the brighter future for small/large and more generally all scale companies.

Let's break the word online video marketing in 3 different and separated words,online-video-marketing. firstly,it needs to be online, everyone's connected through internet and it acts as a world wide platform so by using it you actually maximize the reach of the thing you are putting up.

Video,it needs to be a video as people grasp things more properly when it is visual form or the form which fantasizes them the most which is video format and we all are familiar with that. Being video,a lot of creativity can be used upon it making people  ore enthusiast about it.

lastly marketing , now putting up a video online for customers to watch is and will be used by companies all around the globe for marketing and creating goodwill among their customers and non customers too as people are more acceptable of ads they watch on trustable platforms rather than some unknown place or watching it on television or listening to it on a radio and that is why online video marketing needs to be considered as trend for the rise of companies.

Now this fact also answers the question why do we need to use it,don't we all look for profits even in our slightest transactions?

what changes will it bring?

according to a report by Cisco,by 2017 , video will account for 69% of all consumer internet traffic.Leafing through a swathe of statistics on the subject, I'm hard pressed to find any indicator that doesn't suggest rapid growth.

Now,if you too are interested in online video marketing for your company/startup or whatever you may like to keep these points in mind for the video.
  1. The video must be creative and ensure interest of viewer in the particular subject.
  2. The video must be easy to digest and to the point only,no one likes to waste too much of their time.
  3. The video must cover all necessary points about the topic, keeping in mind all the trust issues of viewer.
Video is the future of online marketing and statistics show the future of online vikdeo marketing is just at our gate ,knocking and i don't get how anybody can't see this.

FAKE RUMOUR OR NOT?

Nokia, the brand we all used to look for every time the topic changed to mobile phones. Nokia had it's own charm, the quality of mobile phones, features and what not,but soon after Android phones took over and cultivated their own market in which Nokia somewhere lost it's name.

Nokia came back with Lumia phones ,powered by windows but they didn't stand a chance against Android and iOS and they too failed.

But guess what?

Maybe this time Nokia will come back with a bang with it's new mobile.

A new image of Nokia c1 has been uploaded on internet with some rumored specifications from the  source which provided the information that the Mobil will be available in two variants, one that'll run on windows 10 Mobile and other having an Android OS.

This new image displays the rumored Nokia c1 with it's Z launcher running on Android operating system. The handset could be seen in grey, white and peach colour.

The source also explained that the handset may be available in two different size versions.

The first size version may be 5 inches full HD(1980x1080) resolution display while the other could be 5.5inches full HD resolution display.

Both the phones are expected to have different camera setups.

The larger variant will be having 3GB RAM with 64GB inbuilt storage, 13MP rear camera with 5MP front facing camera while the 5 inch screen variant will be having 2GB RAM with 32 GB inbuilt storage,8MP rear camera with 5MP front facing camera.

It took Nokia so long to be back in the business that it has been rumored that the company replaced the original hardware design of c1 with a better one meanwhile.

Unfortunately Nokia can't use it's brand on it's smartphones until 4th quarter of 2016 because of the acquisition of its devices and services by Microsoft.

LUMIA BACK WITH A BANG!!

Technical updates
Microsoft Lumia, the phones that went extinct, maybe because they weren't competitive against Android and iOS may now come back in business and that too as a strong competitor.

Microsoft is expected to come back with a bang with Lumia 950 XL. It is not yet available in market but can be preordered from Lumia's website
First, let's take a look at what it has to flaunt about
  • 5.7” Quad HD AMOLED (2560 x 1440)
  • Qualcomm® Snapdragon ™ 810 processor (2 Ghz Octa Core)
  • 518 ppi Pixel density
  • Adreno 430 GPU
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 20 MP sensor Triple LED natural flash, ZEISS optics
  • Corning Gorilla glass 4
Apart from these basic specifications , cortona (windows assistant) will provide you with relevant, helpful information when you need it most by learning more about your daily routine and activities.

New Lumia 950 XL comes with windows hello(beta) which is more like a face detection unlock mechanism, you look directly at the screen and some infra-red camera technology automatically authenticates you,the good point is It even works in the dark.

Onedrrive storage is more like same it used to be ,providing same functionalities. no significant functionality changes brought.

Now,the feature of this phone that completely set it apart from other phones and the feature i personally assume to be the best is Windows continuum. You just need to connect your phone to Microsoft display dock ,which is sold separate and connect an external monitor to it and whoa your phone transforms into a complete desktop version of windows 10. mouse and keyboard can be connected ,else your phone can be used as a track pad.Few apps have been specially scaled for PC and vice versa.

This phone is pored by a 3340mAh battery, which is pretty awesome, also it has USB type C port which supports faster charging and data synchronization.

It is priced at Rs. 49,399 and the design is pretty much basic and consistent with the design methodology olf previous lumia phones, which may become a cause of people not buying it that much but as far as i'm concerned i'd like to go with the quote,it's what inside that matters the most.

Prevention is better than being Hacked

current techncal updates

As the information technology industry is growing at a rate never seen before there are ever increasing attacks being faced each hour.

Wikipedia explains web security efficiently , it is a branch of Information security that deals specifically with security of websites, web applications and web services. At a higher lever, web application security draws on the principles of application security but applies them specifically to Internet and Web systems.

Usually, mistakes of site administrator are used by hackers to gain access for their malicious purposes.
So,here i compile a list of 3 most 'popular' mistakes people generally do and how to prevent them from happening because prevention is always better than cure.

1. Injection flaw

Injection flaws generally occur by not filtering untrusted data and passing it to server or browser leading to hijacking of client's browser.

Anything you receives from untrusted sources must be filtered, preferably according to a white list.
Prevention : Each and every input must be filtered before processing, not a single input should slip by.
filtering every input is not as easy as it sounds so you should go with  framework’s filtering functions as they are proven to work and are completely scrutinized.

2. Cross Site Scripting (XSS)

This is like a more special case of injection as in this type of attack, attacker provides java script tags on input to the web application.

When this input is returned back to user , user's browser will execute it. Now this is a much sinister attack for example it can provide your cookies to the attacker.

Prevention : This can be prevented by not returning HTML tags to client. This has an added benefit of prevention against HTML injection too.
website hacked recover tips

 3. Insecure Direct Object References

In this the attacker can provide this reference and, if authorization is either not enforced or is broken, the attacker can access or do things that he shouldn't be allowed to.

Attacker can get access to various files and database just by formatting a line of code/URL and providing direct reference to what he want to access/obtain.

Prevention : User authorization must be performed properly and choices must be white list. Generally, the whole problem can be avoided by storing data internally , Session variables in most frameworks are well suited for this.

5 Features of Android not known to everyone.

Edu tech updates

Now this is for all android users out there, this topic gets everybody excited. Everybody wants to know what their phones are capable of so not wasting time, here is the list :-

1. you can get a list of all the apps you've installed from your google id,doesn't matter if you've uninstalled them or have changed your phone.

To see that tap on the three lines on the Google search bar in Play store.
There you will find the ‘My apps’ section under the ‘Apps and games’. Tap on it to see the list.
You can also do that by using third party applications but this way is much better ,and do not use up extra storage on your phone.

2. We all have our own privacy and need to lock our phone with pass-codes or pattern locks but to input passcodes even at places where you feel safe about your personal data(like at home) can be a tedious task so, to avoid that you can set up your setting such that your phone automatically gets unlocked at the places you want to.  you can use the ‘Smart lock’ feature (with Android 5.0 and above) .
you just need to go to settings->security
There you will find the ‘smart lock’ feature. Tap on it to set up the ‘Trusted places’ where you don’t want to type a pass-code every time to unlock your Android smartphone.

3. For all those people who clears their notifications from notification panel mistakenly and then regret is,this trick will work miraculously.

Add settings shortcut to your home screen,it will open a menu from which you can select notification log option which will provide you with all the notification you needed in first place.

4. We all have went through the situation of misplacing our phone when it's on silent mode. Calling it doesn't work, being on silent so,what should we do?

you can use 'Android device manager' for that purpose. Open a browser and type ‘Find my phone’ through Android device manage, you'll be asked to enter your google ID(use the same ID you have used on your stolen or misplaced device) . From there you can select to ring, lock or erase as per your requirement.

5. We do not want someone to read our notification, Whatsapp messages when we are around or not around our smartphone.

For this we can restrict what notifications to show and what not. you just need to go to sound and notifications in settings menu and tap on ‘When device is unlocked’

You can then choose to display or hide specific content in the notifications.

CMS-A STUDY OF VULNERABLITIES AND PROTECTIONS

As per Wikipedia a web content management system (CMS) is a bundled or stand alone application to create, deploy or more generally manage and contain data or content on web pages. Now web content may include audio, video, code, photos or sometimes code for applications too and that is what interacts with user.

Since CMSs are easy to work with ,most people go with them when creating/managing a website.CMSs like WordPress, joomla and drupal are the most considered by people all over the globe,as per a survey they form a staggering 75% share of total CMS websites on the world wide web.

They are similar to each other in the sense that they are most common targets of hackers. Cyber hackers have discovered security holes in WordPress core a long ago, almost 1,72,000 WordPress websites got hacked last year.

A study found that 73% of all WordPress installations had vulnerabilities  for hackers to exploit easily.

It is so common for people to assume, since wordpress, joomla etc. are such big names they must be providing a best in class security to their consumers but sadly that is not true at all.

CMSs are built on an open source framework, which do have several benefits but when it comes to flaw they do have their share in that too usually because of its less accountability.Being so popular and with no one to take responsibility for and because of no price tag it is no surprise that it contains a large number of security holes to be breached through by hackers .

Adding to this ,website operators often use weak passwords which can be easily cracked using brute force attacks, making them accessible to hackers which can turn them into site for malware distribution which will eventually get the site blacklisted by google and other search engines.

Lastly, plugins also add to security problems. A recent study concluded that almost 20% of the fifty most used plugins of wordpress are prone to hacking.Considering that almost every CMS user have an atleast of 3-5 plugins installed ,it's quite understandable how are they adding to further security problems.

NOW WHAT SHOULD BE THE PROTECTIVE MEASURES?

Basically a lot of measures can be adopted for protection of wordpress, joomla websites and that are:-
  • CMS should be maintained up to date, all necessary updations, plugins and themes must be done. User should update as soon as the update is available even if it's out of their update schedule.
  • CMS and it's underlying database must be backed up regularly,or more specifically, should be performed weekly at minimal.
  • Subscribe to some security blog or website, dealing with vulnerabilities of the CMSs you are currently using.
  • Default admin usernames must be deleted and a potentially strong and difficult to crack must password must be made, a strong password must be atleast 8 characters long, containing upper case ,lower case, special characters and numbers.
  • Use a plugin for strong authentication or two factor authentication(2FA).
  • Additionally, users can also go for a web application firewall, they'll be potent enough to protect your CMS and too efficiently. Doesn't matter if it's available as an appliance, server plugin or is cloud based.

Asus is launching new phone with internal memory of 256GB, 4GB ram

As phones are growing bigger day by day ,so is our dependence upon them. Want to take a look at the presentation sent by boss or want to get an eBook or listen to a song in your leisure time?
You have mobile for that purpose.

Now the problem arises when we want more apps, more songs or simply any data on our phone but have no or little space left for that. Don't we all consider our phone's internal memory a little too inadequate?

Be it a phone with an internal memory of 128GB, 64GB or 4GB,it all seems a little less every time we want an app but don't have enough space for that.So what shall be the rescue?

Now you may say cloud storage but that is a time consuming process and so is buying a second phone, neglecting the price issue related with that. Now what if you had a phone with a massive

amount of internal storage and not only that but also fully packed with everything, that too better than all phones in it's class.

Asus just announced a phone with an internal storage of 256GB,it's a variant of Zenfone 2 deluxe edition. It has been announced in San Paulo but is not yet available in India ,nor is the price disclosed just yet.

If I is to say,i think it sounds brilliant, i mean a phone with an internal storage of 256GB and hopefully may not be heavily priced, comparatively. Features of this phone does not end here ,it sounds amusing that is heavily loaded with every other specification also and that are :-

5.5 inch (1080 x 1980 pixels) display with corning gorilla glass 3

FUTURE OF INTERNET WE ALL ASPIRE FOR

New update on technolgy

As new ideas and innovations are popping up almost daily, we are currently moving forward to greater advancements in the field of networking or more simply we can say the era of web 3.0 and Internet of Things(IoT).

Now what is web 3.0?
the term Web 3.0 was first coined by John Mark off of New York Times in 2006,referring it as a supposed third generation of Internet based services that could make the web more intelligent with use of semantics and artificial intelligence.

Now this web will be self sufficient to understand what information you want to see and in which manner, which is supposed to save a lot of time and make your life better. If to predict, web 3.0 may have four components that are semantics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and ever-present.

we already are very much familiar with all four of them , as search engines are working hard to make them more semantic, robotics and military has been dealing with artificial intelligence since ages and virtual reality is what is dwelling upon us all and the usage of phones, tablets etc. tells us about the ever present nature of internet.

The problem is not everyone agrees if they are in the era of web 3.0 or they are still working to be more advanced to actually be in the era of web 3.0, this,we'll leave for the readers to think upon.

Internet of Things and what's stopping us.
As we are currently progressing for web 3.0,we are also shifting to what we can say,the era of Internet of things.

Now this is the era we all need to be on a lookout for, doesn't really matter if you are interested in all its technical aspects or not but you sure need to enjoy what all it has to provide to us.

latest update of internetDevices present in that era will be able to communicate with each other,if they'll be smart enough to that. This machine to machine communication will save us a lot of trouble by eliminating the need to provide commands to the devices we are currently using as they'll be able to understand our needs as all connected devices will perform accordingly.

There are already an abundance of smart devices, as well as automated, internet-connected systems that run without human input, such as automated building climate control.
The smartest people are coming out with ideas and innovations daily but we lack is technology ,and not only that, everything that needs to work upon are

Access to free internet: Now that all devices are connected and maintain conversation with each other through internet there arises a need for free internet and this issue will become more and more important as more devices become networked.

Internet as a human right: We need to treat internet access as a human right and make sure that everyone, no matter where they live or what their financial situations are, can learn and teach themselves using internet.

Net neutrality: Internet needs to be one free, unified  and neutral network.

Monetization of content:  content needs to be monetized in every way from using banner ads for pay-per-click to actually charging users to view content but many organizations now struggle to monetize content without negatively impacting user’s experience.

HOLOGRAPHS TAKING OVER!

For all those who are wondering what Microsoft Hololens is,wikipedia says it's the premier device for windows holographic. It is a smart glass headset that is cordless, self contained Windows 10 computer. It uses advaced sensors,a high definition stereoscopic 3D optical head mounted display, and spatial sound to allow for augmented reality applications, with a natural user interface that the user interacts with through gaze, voice and head gestures.

Sounds futuristic and stuff from Mission Impossible, eh?

Now,lets assume you are considering buying a new car,you go to the desired showroom, you pick up the car you want and now you want a test drive, pretty much normal?

But what if i tell you, you don't even have to turn the engine on to take a test drive?
Am i out of my mind?

NO.YOU KNOWS HOW?

Microsoft Hololens has recently announced they'll be working with Volvo Cars to provide a virtual, Real like, Better experience to consumers by developing a new Holographic technology, for as far as automobiles are concerned.

This new technology wll help potential buyers to view safety features,  car customizations, and even take part in virtual test drives without leaving the showroom.

Volvo is the first automobile company to express interest in Microsoft Holographic technology so as to provide their customers with an at-par experience. They are currently exploring potential of hololens to change how the consumer may discover or even buy cars in future.

Hololens will be effecient to provide description of systems consumers don't generally see, for example safety measures of a car can't be checked on a test drive but they sure are important and needed to be checked, so here comes the use of hololens to verify the safety measures of car without risking life of driver and passengers, by taking a test drive in a virtual world.

This will allow consumers to configure the vehicle and to see what actually they are buying. Other than that it will also help in educating their staff easily and letting consumer to know about potential problems.

This move will also enhance Volvo's image in the market of luxury market.
However this won't be a game changer as it's use will be restricted to those who have a hololens and want to buy a car. The former numbers may be nice but it'll eventually fade out.

10 THINGS MARSHMALLOW MADE US ALL CURIOUS ABOUT

Android Marshmallow(or android 6.0) is in the business but the wait is still on for people who don't own a Nexus 5,Nexus 6,Nexus 9,Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P
So, what we all need to know is, Android Marshmallow worth getting excited about or not?
It took almost forever for Google to release a new android update after lollipop, so how is it different? Is it competitive enough for iOS 9 and Windows 10?
Well we’ll leave that to you for the time being.
1. App Menu
The new app menu is the change that everybody's going to observe first. And, it is totally different to what its android ancestor had.
Instead of flickering through numeral app pages, now there'll be a single list for you to swiftly scroll vertically. Now this may be quite useful if you have many apps installed on your phone by making it a little easier to reach to the app you are looking to access.
Sadly, no provision for app folders in this Google update too.
2. App Search bar and Favorites
Didn't like the menu?
Not a problem, Google provided with a search bar to look for apps in your app list, it also provides with an option to look for the app with the name you are searching for, on play store.
We generally use a number of apps and sometimes it gets really difficult if you don't remember the names of apps/games you've uninstalled, now for that this will get you on the right track, this is the update for you.
Also there are four slots at the top of apps menu that picks up the apps that you use the most or the apps you've used more recently.

3. Clock
The stylier interface of lollipop became a great success among android users so marshmallow took a bigger leap in this game.
This update has more to do with the font of date and time.
The font of time has gone bold and data text has gone all capitals.
4. Memory Manager added
One thing android users didn't like about android lollipop was its huge consumption of memory leading to all sorts of performance issues. Now that a memory manager has been added in marshmallow, user can check out details of memory usage and there'll be no need of installing a third party app for this as menu have a new 'Memory' area in settings menu.
Before you gets too excited, it's more like a read-only file. Sure, it provides you with details of memory usage over last 3,6,12 or 24 hours but if any app is misbehaving there is nothing more you can do other than uninstalling that app.
5. A Lock Screen Message can be added
This little new feature allows you to add a line of text at your lock screen, like a 'To-Be-Remembered' on your lock screen.
This extra line is written in lower case with opacity just under 100%.
6. Optimization of battery on app by app basis
This feature provides you with details of how apps are using energy when being active in back-door, to save battery life.
Google didn't cleared out what optimization is actually for, but you can bet it is more about regulating  ho freely app can use mobile data and perform background processes.
7. Fingerprint scanners supported as standard
Now you must be thinking that fingerprint scanners have been around for many years, so, what's new about this?
What’s new is that it's with marshmallow that the system supports the hardware natively as before software needed to be jammed in by the manufacturer.
Both nexus 5X and 6P comes with rear fingerprint scanners which lets you unlock, identify for apps and sign off on Pay wireless payments.
8. Instant Google now
Making the digital assistant more assitive, in marshmallow you can talk to assistant on home screen just by saying 'OK Google'. Now if you don't feel like talking, this neatest update lets you call assistant everywhere ,a long press on the home button makes Google to scan whatever's on they screen and provide you with it's online information.
9. Securely manage app permissions
In previous androids app permissions were provided to the app at the time of install,at the time it asks you to grant specific permissions to install the app.
Now with marshmallow this has changed, apps will now have to ask for permissions at the time of using it,making it more secure and providing you with details of what actually it is doing in background.
There is a dedicated sections also in settings menu which shows which apps have access to which permissions which can be managed at a press.
10. Doze
The rate of consumption of battery have been a problematic issue among android users, for this marshmallow introduced a new feature that saves power by recognizing when the phone is in state of rest.
According to google they have tested it with Nexus 9 and it helped increase the battery life by a multiplying factor of 2 in standby mode by using fewer background services. No,you don't need to worry about missing alarms and instant messages as doze will not lock them down in rested mode of phone.
